The Lucy Faithfull Foundation is a UK-wide child protection charity dedicated solely to preventing child sexual abuse, working with offenders to support them from reoffending and potential offenders. Deborah Dennis’s first role with the foundation began in 2009 when she joined as the media and communications manager. After 18 months away, she re-joined in 2016 as head of fundraising and external relations. In 2018, she became the foundation’s first director of fundraising and external relations.

What is your current income and where does funding come from?

This financial year we have recorded an income of £2.4m, up from £2.2m last year. Our unaudited accounts show that we have received 33 per cent from our fee-paying work, such as assessment, intervention and training (down from 50 per cent the year before). Fifty-four per cent of our income came from statutory grants and charitable grants from trusts and foundations. Around 8 per cent came from beneficiary contributions; and 3 per cent from public donations.
