The past 12 months has put previously unimaginable strain on charities’ services and those that seek to raise funds to support them. But one positive that has emerged from the turmoil unleashed by Covid-19 has been an increasing willingness of organisations to pool resources and embrace a collaborative way of working to make funds stretch further and reduce costs.

Several household-name charities have committed to working more closely with other organisations in the same or similar field on service provision and fulfilment. Two leading animal charities, RSPCA and Blue Cross, for example, have agreed to collaborate on such key areas as purchasing and supplies, and the transport of animals.
