A new £12m property hub for charities and social organisations is set to open in Vauxhall, South London next year.

The Foundry, which is described it as “a centre for social justice and human rights”, is being developed and funded by Trust for London, Barrow Cadbury Trust, Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust, LankellyChase and the Ethical Property Company, which will manage the new building.

Loan finance has also been secured from Charity Bank, Big Society Capital, Bridges Ventures and Rathbones.

Conrad Peberdy, director of development at the Ethical Property Company said the site will be a home for over 40 organisations and will offer office, meeting, conference and event space.

It is due to be completed by summer 2014. Peberdy said it will provide space to tenants ranging from refugee groups to minority rights and criminal justice organisations.
