The Bupa UK Foundation has announced that up to £1m of grant funding is available to support mid-life mental health-focused projects.
This is the first funding programme by the Bupa UK Foundation, which will provide grants to both individuals and organisations that specifically focus on the areas of prevention, early intervention and integration of mid-life mental health.
The foundation expects to make around 20 grants to projects: large grants of over £50,000 for wide-reaching projects with sustained impact, medium grants of up to £50,000 to one-off projects and small grants of up to £10,000 for smaller local projects.
The foundation will be looking to fund projects that will be delivered in 12 to 18 months.' time from when funding is agreed, which will be between October and December.
Dr Paula Franklin, medical director of Bupa UK, said: “We’re pleased to announce mid-life mental health as the theme of the Bupa UK Foundation’s first funding programme. Mental health is critical issue that can affect anyone, and mid-life in particular can be a period of increased pressure and responsibility.
“We want to support projects and initiatives seeking to improve mental health and make a direct impact on people’s health and wellbeing”.
The Bupa UK Foundation was established in 2015 and is funded by Bupa UK, who will provide £1m of grant money each year for health themed projects.
