CFDG has partnered with Acevo to publish The Tax Implications of Charity Trading, a guide written by Pesh Framjee and the charity tax team at Horwath Clark Whitehill.

The book provides an introduction to the basic tax exemptions charities are entitled to, as well as a detailed analysis of the tax and trading environment for charities.

It aims to act both as a reference guide and a source of practical advice.

Framjee (pictured), head of not-for-profits at Horwath Clark Whitehill and special adviser to CFDG, wrote one of the first books on charity trading in the 1990s.

He said: “Charities are carrying out an ever-increasing range of activities to meet their objectives and to generate income.

“These are caught by sometimes complex rules and requirements which can lead to problems if they are not understood and addressed.”
