The Charity Finance Group has announced that its next chair will be Nicki Deeson, who is currently international finance director at Amnesty International.
Deeson is currently the vice-chair of CFG, and has been a trustee since 2012. She joined Amnesty International in 2013 and before that was head of finance at the Alzheimer’s Society.
Outgoing chair Ian Theodoreson made the announcement as he opened CFG’s annual conference this morning.
“It has been a real privilege to serve as your chair for the past six years,” he said. “It has been a great adventure partnering with Caron and her team over that time and to see how CFG has gone from strength to strength, even when some doubted us.”
Theordoreson, who is chief finance officer for the Church of England, became chair in 2011 and during his tenure oversaw the organisation change its name from Charity Finance Director’s Group to Charity Finance Group.
During Theodoreson's term CFG faced criticism from special advisers and a trustee over a 75 per cent drop in the level of reserves, but the charity has since seen reserve levels recover.
