The Charity Awards, the longest-running awards ceremony in the sector, has opened for applications.
Organised by Civil Society Media, the Charity Awards identifies organisations that have original and effective ideas, which the rest of the sector can learn from.
Chris Sherwood, CEO of the RPCA, is the new judging panel chair this year.
Sherwood said: “Being part of these awards is one of the highlights of my year. It is both humbling and inspiring to see our sector at its best, making a real difference in communities up and down the country.”
The Awards also provides a perfect opportunity for charities to propel their work into the spotlight, to influence policymakers and funders, and to showcase the quality of their interventions. Any type of project or initiative from charities in the UK is welcome to enter.
Ten individual awards are given for charities working in different sectors before an overall winner is chosen by the judges. On the presentation night in July, one individual is celebrated for their contribution to the charity sector.
Entries will be judged by a panel of sector experts against the six Hallmarks of Excellence.
Charities have until Thursday 29 February to submit their entries and the presentation ceremony takes place on Tuesday 9 July.
CCLA is the Overall Partner for this year’s Awards.
CCLA chief executive, Peter Hugh Smith, said: “CCLA is delighted to be the Overall Partner for the Charity Awards in 2024. Now, more than ever, we need to encourage the work of charities that nurture, repair and sustain our society.
“CCLA is honoured to be part of this event, recognising outstanding professionals in the many and varied fields of charity. We not only promote ‘good investment’ but we also wholeheartedly believe in the power of doing ‘good’ to change lives, strengthen communities and contribute to civil society.”
