More than 6,900 shops represented by 75 organisations - responsible for generating £846m - took part last year, making this the charity retail sector's most comprehensive study.

Last year’s responses showed a 12 per cent real terms fall in income, as well as sharp increases in wages and rents, a drop in volunteer numbers, and another fall in the price of recycled clothing, or rag. These figures brought to an end a decade or more of sharp growth in the shops sector.

This year’s survey will track whether these trends will continue, as well as finding out more about whether charity shops are moving away from the high street, whether specialist boutique shops are growing in popularity, and whether charity retail is moving online.

Now in its 26th year, the Charity Shops Survey provides essential benchmarking information and analysis of key charity retail trends and performance figures. Over the years it has served as an invaluable source of information for charities, retailers, supporters, and analysts alike.

The survey results will be published in October by Charity Finance and Fundraising Magazine and will also be available here at civilsociety.co.uk.

If you would like to see how your results will be presented in the published survey, please tick the box at the start of the questionnaire.
