Children’s charity founded by Hollywood legend rebrands for 25th anniversary

A children’s charity founded by Hollywood actor and philanthropist Paul Newman has changed its branding as it celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.

Over The Wall Camp, which supports children with long-term health conditions by providing residential camps for them and their families, unveiled a new logo and website last week.

It first rebrand in 15 years, the charity said it aims to refresh its identity to connect with new generations of campers, supporter and volunteers.

Founded in 1999, Over The Wall Camp had previously held up to 10 camps a year in different locations around the UK.

The rebranding comes at a “pivotal moment” for the charity, it said, after purchasing a site formerly home to Ockbrook School in Derby in May.

Over The Wall Camp will be hosting its camps from this new, permanent home from 2026.

Last year, the charity recorded its highest ever income of over £2.03m, according to its latest accounts filed with the Charity Commission.

Collaborative rebranding process

The charity said the rebrand was done collaboratively, with insights from its staff and volunteers being crucial to ensuring that the new branding would be truly representative of the charity’s core values and the impact of its camps.

Additionally, the charity will be maintaining this inclusive, collaborative approach by launching a Camp Mascot design competition.

Children who benefit from the charity’s camps will be invited to contribute to the ongoing rebranding by submitting a mascot that they have drawn to the competition.

The winning mascot design will be chosen by the team of volunteers and will become a logo for the residential camps.
