Colostomy Association changes its name and logo

The Colostomy Association has announced that it has renamed itself as Colostomy UK and has launched a new logo and website as part of its rebranding project.

Colostomy UK launched its new branding and website earlier in the month. A statement issued by the charity said the new name “speaks to the charity’s forward-thinking strategy and vision, and will help as it develops further”.

The change in name also reflects the two-year development of the organisation from being an “information-based support” charity, to one which also runs projects “to help and empower ostomates, as well as advocating and campaigning on their behalf at home and abroad”.

Alongside the new name, and website, Colostomy UK launched its new “refreshed iris logo”, which it said is “a bolder and more contemporary design” than its previous iteration.

The charity said it would also like to “reassure supporters” that its rebranding would not affect “core services, including the 24-hour helpline” or any of its “range of literature”.

The charity has been contacted by Civil Society News for information on how much the rebranded logo and website cost, but have not received a response.

In a general statement from the organisation, Libby Herbert general manager of Colostomy UK, said: “Everyone at Colostomy UK is very excited by the future. We are all looking forward to providing you with ongoing support. We want hidden conditions to be understood and accepted by all.

“In the years to come we will be working hard to achieve our vision of communities in which everyone is empowered to reach their potential.”
