06 Sep 2017 News

The inaugural Charities Against Fraud Awards has launched, with the aim of recognising excellence in tackling fraud in the charity sector.

Organised by accountancy firm Moore Stephens with support from the Fraud Advisory Panel, Charity Commission and Governance & Leadership magazine, the Charity Fraud Awards are free to enter and open to all UK charities.

The deadline for entries is 5pm on Friday 29 September and the awards ceremony will be held at Moore Stephens’ London offices on the evening of 24 October, as part of Charity Fraud Awareness Week.

Winners will receive a half-day fraud awareness training course for their staff, delivered by the counter fraud team at the British Council.  The training will cover why people commit fraud and what can be done to identify and prevent it.
