Civil Society Media and Fundraising Magazine have released the first full edition of their new "How to Guide" series, which aims to educate and share knowledge between fundraisers.
The first edition will be completely free with the purpose of sharing the learning as widely as possible.
Whether you are just starting out in your career as a fundraiser or working for a smaller charity with limited resources, this guide is designed to give you a broad overview of some of the key income channels used in the sector. Each one has associated opportunities and challenges, and a basic knowledge of each segment will help you develop as a professional fundraiser and help drive income for your cause.
The inaugural edition of the series features case studies from leading charities, showcasing innovative approaches to fundraising.
Learn how the RSPB has used digital film to help engage donors with its legacy proposition, while the British Heart Foundation explains how it has held an annual swimming challenge for over three decades, raising hundreds of thousands of pounds.
“A lot of innovation in fundraising is through trial and error. This can be expensive and time-consuming. Luckily, some of the bigger charities have the resources to experiment and are generous enough to share their learnings with the wider sector,” said Stephen Cotterill, editor of Fundraising Magazine.
Looking ahead, the How to Guide series promises to delve deeper into specific specialisms, with future editions focusing on areas such as legacies, digital fundraising and foundations.
