A Bristol-based hospice charity has opened its second retail superstore nearly a year after its first large shop opened.
This week, St Peter’s Hospice announced that it had opened a new superstore in the town of Portishead, after its first superstore opened in Clifton last year.
Located at a retail park, the new superstore specialises in pre-owned and new furniture, homeware, electricals, white goods and second-hand clothing.
The superstore offers a delivery service and free furniture collection and has a donation station.
It is St Peter’s Hospice’s second charity shop in Portishead, with its smaller, boutique store on the high street specialising in clothing, vintage items, children’s clothes and toys.
‘Our largest superstore yet’
St Peter’s Hospice supports adults with life-limiting conditions in Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset.
John Broomhead, St Peter’s Hospice’s retail director, said the people of Portishead have always been “hugely supportive” of the charity’s first store.
“We’re delighted to be opening our second superstore in Portishead, and our largest superstore yet,” he said.
“These stores are slightly different to the ones you see on the high street, in that they focus primarily on furniture and homeware with smaller sections for clothing and accessories.
“We wanted to create a store which offered great quality preloved items for the home at affordable prices.”
