The chief executive of Social Investment Business, Jonathan Jenkins will become chief executive of London’s Air Ambulance next year.
Jenkins, who has been chief executive at the organisation for the last five years, is due to leave the charity at the end of March 2017.
Jenkins said: “I am extremely grateful for the opportunity I have had at Social Investment Business and I leave behind a fantastic team who have consistently delivered innovative programmes to help charities and social enterprises access the funding they need to do more of what they do best.
“The organisation will now embark on an exciting new era and the incoming CEO will have a brilliant opportunity to help shape the future of social investment.”
Social Investment Business will begin recruiting for a new chief executive in January, when more information will be made available.
Hazel Blears, chair of Social Investment Business, said: “Jonathan should be proud of what he has achieved at Social Investment Business. His leadership and vision have helped charities and social enterprises from across the country access the finance they require and he has been a consistent advocate of the importance of focusing on the needs of the sector we are here to serve. He leaves us in an excellent position and I am looking forward to working with our new CEO to continue our important work.”
Jenkins will join London’s Air Ambulance in April.
Mark Vickers, chair of London’s Air Ambulance, said: “With Jonathan at the helm, our charity is in a strong position to build on the momentum of our existing success. We look forward to seeing Jonathan use his impressive talents to act as an inspirational leader, a key spokesperson and a passionate advocate for our organisation, generating strong and long-lasting relationships with various stakeholders.”
