Financial education charity Money4YOU has changed its name to The AVOCADO Foundation to better reflect its mission of financial empowerment.
The AVOCADO Foundation said that the name was chosen to reflect that it does more than provide money to its beneficiaries, as it works to support individuals via financial education so they can have long-term success.
Avocado was chosen as the charity said the food is known for its potential to create healthy growth and symbolises the potential for financial health and prosperity.
The rebrand included changes to the charity's branding, logo, website, programmes and media assets.
Pro bono support
It received pro bono support from the graphic designer Upasna Prasad which it valued at £25,000.
A spokesperson for the charity told Civil Society: “We're grateful for Upasna's talent and partnership in creating a fresh visual identity that embodies our mission and core values.”
AmickyCarol Akiwumi, CEO and founder of the charity, said: “The AVOCADO Foundation represents our deep-rooted commitment to empowering underserved communities to not just survive, but thrive financially.
“This transformation allows us to provide a more comprehensive approach, fostering financial independence and a brighter future.”
For the financial year ending December 2022, the charity reported a total income of over £260,000, when its income for June 2018 was only £11,000.
Its total expenditure for the most recent financial year was over £225,000.
The charity is hosting a gala dinner and dance on 28 June to celebrate it being a decade since its creation.
