A new Mr Men character ebook called Mr Mo has been released in the UK to help raise funds and awareness for next month’s Movember.

The charity ebook is on sale at amazon.co.uk for £3, with 60p of each sale going directly to the charity. Mr Mo was designed by Adam Hargreaves, son of original Mr Men creator Roger Hargreaves. The book also features many other favourite Mr Men characters who all have grown facial hair for the occasion.

Hywell Mills, European partnership manager at Movember, said: “Movember are absolutely delighted to have the support of Mr Mo and many of his Mr Men & Little Miss friends. We can’t wait to see some of the normally cleanshaven Mr Men sporting their mos. And of course we’re delighted that Adam Hargreaves has written a special book to raise awareness of Movember and the good work it does for men’s health."

Mr Mo’s character was first released in Australia in 2010, where his adventures were published as a physical book.

Movember raises awareness and funds for men’s health, specifically conditions such as testicular cancer, prostate cancer and mental health.

The charity encourages men to grow a moustache throughout the month of November in order to promote awareness. It also raises money to educate men about how to look out for such conditions and actions to take if they become ill.

In 2012, the event raised over £90m globally and in the UK over 363,000 participants raised over £26.9m.

Hargreaves said: “It has been a privilege, fun and very rewarding to work with the Movember charity on the Mr Mo book and it is great that the Mr Men are able to help with the advancement of an important cause.”
