A new fundraising auction platform is giving 100% of winning bids back to charities.

Speaking at the launch event of A Noble Gift yesterday, Laura Cordingley, chief executive of the Chelsea Football Club Foundation, said: “What I really want to emphasise is the transparency of A Noble Gift and how amazing that is.”

Consumers can purchase gifts and experiences donated by brands and donors. Experiences can be bid on and there is a also “buy it now” option.

The full amount of either option goes to the brand’s chosen charity. Consumers can also choose causes that resonate with them.

The platform charges the consumer 18% of the bid amount plus VAT to maintain the website and operational costs.

Some of its charity partners include Cardiac Risk in the Young, Chelsea Football Club Foundation and War Child.

Many of the experiences offered by the platform are exclusives, such as skiing with former rugby player Mike Tindall and becoming a Chelsea FC mascot for the day, which usually has a three-year waiting period.

“It definitely opened our eyes to think more creatively about what experiences we can offer from a Football Foundation perspective,” Cordingley said at the event, which was hosted by Tracey Crouch, former civil society minister and non-executive director of A Noble Gift.

The four founders of A Noble Gift, founded in 2023, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and raised over £150,000 for a local cancer charity after one of the founders survived breast cancer and wanted to fundraise to give something back.

Connecting brand with charities

Crouch said: “Having been through breast cancer myself and joining these incredible ladies to climb Kilimanjaro, each of us having our own personal connection to cancer, I became so invested in this journey.

“So much of corporate gifting goes unused and having A Noble Gift connect with brands to benefit other charities is such a great concept.

“What could be better to receive a wonderful gift but for the money to have also benefitted a worthy cause.”

Co-founder Sarah Howick said: “While raising money for a vital piece of breast cancer detection equipment, we were amazed at the generosity of so many businesses who gave us incredible exclusive experiences that we then auctioned off.

“We later realised we could raise so much more for charities by connecting brands to charities with the added bonus that we were offering people exclusive experiences that they might not otherwise have an opportunity to access.”
