A glitch in NSPCC’s Letter from Santa website has resulted in incorrect personalisation of letters and delays in sending them out.
The charity says the issue has now been resolved and that it will replace incorrect letters.
Paul Farthing, director of fundraising at NSPCC, said: “We are working round the clock to ensure that children receive their Letters from Santa before Christmas.
“We would like to offer our sincere apologies and encourage anyone affected to call our dedicated team on 0845 839 9304. We will investigate all enquiries and confirm when supporters can expect to receive their letters or organise for replacement letters to be issued, where appropriate.”
Disappointed members of the public took to the charity’s Facebook page to complain about missing letters and inaccuracies on some that had arrived – with many saying they would not use the service again.

NSPCC launched its annual Letter from Santa campaign in the autumn suggesting that adults make a £5 donation to its ChildLine Service in return for ‘Santa’ sending a personalised letter to a child. Letters could be personalised with the child’s name, age, gender, best friends name, achievements and an optional PS at the end.
For those that have received the correct letter the response on Facebook was generally positive.
