Ruth Murphy, director of investment management and charities at Newton, will join Brewin Dolphin this summer, as its new head of charity business development.
Murphy, who is also a committee member of the Charity Investors’ Group said: “I have had a very happy 12 years at Newton and been extremely fortunate in the people with whom I have worked, both internally and externally. The charity investment industry is a fascinating one and full of a great many people doing a great deal of important things in society. I am looking forward to joining Brewin Dolphin as they continue to build their charity business.”
Her career began in the voluntary sector in 1982, where she worked for Scope for nine years. In 1991 she joined the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) as executive director of charity services, managing CAF’s investment, banking and administration services for charities. In 1999 Murphy moved into the City, joining Newton.
