The Salvation Army has announced a new partnership with the BBC’s Songs of Praise which will highlight the charity's work.
The partnership is part of “exciting changes” to the show’s format and will involve the charity recording several songs with the BBC in October that will be featured in the new series from November, according to the Salvation Army.
A spokeswoman for the Salvation Army told Civil Society News: “We hope the programme will highlight the work of the organisation and also show that the Army is a vibrant and exciting movement to be part of. The BBC features a wide variety of Christian organisations on its programme of which we are one."
The Salvation Army is appealing for volunteers to get involved with a mass choir on the show.
The Salvation Army is a Christian church and registered charity. It works in 126 countries, “demonstrating Christian principles through practical support” and “offering unconditional friendship, and very practical help to people of all ages, backgrounds and needs”, according the charity’s website.
