Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day is this year partnering with ITV’s Text Santa, with the money made being split across three different charities.

The day, which is taking place on the 18 December, is being referred to this year as Text Santa’s Christmas Jumper Day. The other two charities that are involved in the partnership are Macmillan and Make a Wish. Money made through the campaign will be donated through Text Santa, and split equally three ways.

A spokeswoman from Save the Children said that the Christmas Jumper Day and Text Santa campaign is currently a one-year partnership, although it could be extended further.

ITV Text Santa, which had its first live television broadcast in 2011, will take place on 18 December and will involve specials of ITV shows including Downton Abbey, Coronation Street and Benidorm.

Text Santa is now in its fifth year and has so far raised over £21m for UK charities. The appeal’s partner is Primark, who will donate £1.50 to the appeal for every Christmas Jumper sold from the 1st December to the 17th December in store in the UK or Northern Ireland.

Other appeal partners include Papa John’s, Vodafone, Twentieth Century Fox and department store Liberty.

ITV announced in September that Macmillan Cancer Support, Make-A-Wish UK and Save the Children would be its three beneficiary charities for the Text Santa Appeal 2015.
