Scope has today announced that it is relocating its headquarters to the Olympic Park in East London.
The charity, currently based in North London, will move to a 15,472 square foot office at the Here East campus in Stratford in May.
Scope said the relocation will enable it to collaborate with other organisations on the campus, including the Global Disability Innovation Hub, technology innovation centre Plexal, UCL and Loughborough University London.
It said the new office will support new technology, more flexible ways of working and new working practices.
The charity said the design of the new office will offer improved accessibility for staff. It plans to build new facilities including a sensory room and a changing places facility.
Mark Atkinson, chief executive of Scope, said: "Our people are our single greatest resource. Their hard work and dedication is the foundation of everything we do.
“That's why we want to invest in making sure they have the tools and resources to get the job done. Our new office at Here East isn't just about new desks and a new location. It's a fundamental change in how we work together.
“We'll have new, flexible ways of working so we can attract and retain the best talent. We'll be working with our neighbours - from other charities to innovative start-up companies - to share expertise and cultivate new relationships.
“Inclusion for disabled people isn't an afterthought or a bolt on. It's fundamental to the design of our new office.”
The Here East campus is being developed by iCITY, a company owned by clients of Delancey, a specialist real estate investment advisory company.
Scope is in the middle of a major restructure including a reduction in its workforce by more than two-thirds and transferring 51 of its care services to private company, Salutem Healthcare.
The charity joins Cancer Research UK and the British Council, who both announced moves to the Olympic Park last year.
