Graeme Brown, director of Shelter Scotland, has been appointed as interim chief executive of Shelter, effective from the start of January next year.
Brown will lead the organisation following the departure of Campbell Robb, the current chief executive, who will step down at the end of the year.
Recruitment is currently open for a permanent chief executive, with applications closing on Monday 5 December. The charity has said it hopes to announce the new permanent chief executive in early February.
Graeme has been director of Shelter Scotland since July 2008, and prior to this was director of communications, policy and campaigns for Shelter UK.
Derek Myers, chair of trustees at Shelter, said: “Campbell Robb has been at the heart of Shelter's vital and successful work for the past seven years. During that time we have helped more people than ever before and campaigned to ensure housing gets given its proper priority.
“Until we recruit a permanent replacement for Campbell, Graeme Brown will help ensure the continued success of the charity. With several years of experience as director of Shelter Scotland, the board of trustees is confident that the organisation will be in very good hands.”
