Scottish government: Fairer Workplaces Fund

Grants available: Up to £50,000 per project.
Deadline to apply: 1 September 2024. 
Who is the funding for? The fund is for employers that want to enhance, develop and thrive through various working ways and focuses on new projects that support flexible working practices and improve diversity, equality, and inclusion within the workplace.

Funded projects should commence on 1 October 2024 and conclude by 31 March 2025 and align with the Scottish government’s ambition of creating a fair work nation by next year and key priorities of reducing child poverty and growing the economy.

When will you hear back? Mid-September 2024.

Arts Council England: National Portfolio Creative People and Places 

Grants available: Between £750,000 and £1m.
Deadline to apply: 16 January 2025. 
Who is the funding for? The funding is for consortia (community and/or grassroots organisations (non-arts/cultural) and arts/cultural organisations) whose activities are delivered in parts of the country where involvement in creativity and culture is significantly below the national average. 

Activities must be delivered between 1 April 2026 and 31 March 2029. Those unrelated to creativity and culture and not benefitting or engaging people in England in the short or long term will not be funded.

The online application form will open on ACE’s online application portal Grantium on 12 September 2024.

When will you hear back? 6 October 2025.

YouthLink Scotland: Youth Arts Open Fund

Grants available: Up to £8,000 for freelance artists and £15,000 for organisations.
Deadline to apply: 5 September 2024. 
Who is the funding for? The fund aims to support freelance artists or creative, third sector or youth work organisations to deliver youth-led arts activities for children and young people, especially those who face barriers to participation.

Proposals should engage children and young people in high-quality and accessible arts activity that empowers them through self-expression, enhances their mental health and wellbeing and builds their confidence and skills. Applicants must be based in Scotland.

When will you hear back? Within 10 weeks of the deadline.

Home Office: Protective Security for Mosques Scheme

Grants available: Unspecified.
Deadline to apply: No deadline. 
Who is the funding for? The Home Office continues to provide protective security measures to places of worship under the Protective Security for Mosques Scheme.

The scheme offers funding to Muslim places of worship and their associated faith community centres that are vulnerable to hate crime so that they can apply for safety guarding services.

When will you hear back? Applicants will be contacted by email.

The Henry Smith Charity: Holiday Grants programme

Grants available: Between £500 and £2,750
Deadline to apply: 19 November 2024.
Who is the funding for? Schools, youth groups, not-for-profit organisations and charities are invited to apply for the Holiday Grants programme, which provides access to recreational trips or holidays for disadvantaged or disabled groups of children.

The Henry Smith Charity said it is particularly interested in contributing to trips that would not take place without its funding.

When will you hear back? Within six weeks.

Consortium: LGBT+ Futures: Equity Fund

Grants available: Between £100 and £25,000.
Deadline to apply: 21 November 2024.
Who is the funding for? This fund supports user-led LGBT+ organisations that are led by and for D/deaf, disabled, neurodivergent LGBT+ people; LGBTQIA+ women; LGBT+ people of the global majority; older LGBT+ people; trans and non-binary people. They must be based in England and work with targeted underrepresented and underresourced communities.

It aims to help intersectional LGBT+ organisations grow and influence the LGBT+ voluntary sector in more equitable ways, ensure they are better equipped to work with their beneficiaries and gain more confidence to develop relationships with and/or apply for grants through other funders.

When will you hear back? Applications are assessed on a rolling basis, with a maximum of four months from the submission date.
