In this fortnightly column we look at the funding pots available to the charity sector. NFU Mutual Charitable Trust and the London Marathon Foundation have opened grant pots for applications.

Kent Community Foundation – Infrastructure Support Fund

Grants available: up to £75,000
Deadline to apply: 14 April
Who is the funding for?
Charities and community groups in Kent are being invited to apply for grants of up to £75,000 from the foundation. The fund wants to support the development of leadership skills, including board development or good governance and policy development, help for collaborative working for back office and mergers, organisational strategy and development projects and more. Grant funding must be fully spent by March 2025.

The London Marathon Foundation and Sport England - Go! London fund

Grants available: £40,000 - £150,000
Deadline to apply: Rolling deadline
Who is the funding for?
Mayor of London Sadiq Khan launched the sports fund last week which aims to transform the lives of “under-served young Londoners” aged four to 24. Charities, youth groups, faith groups and social enterprises are being invited to apply for grants of £40,000 to £150,000. The fund will run for at least five years from March 2023. Beneficiaries of the fund will be aged 4 to 24 that may come from low-income families or living in poverty, refugees or asylum seekers, are not in education or have special educational needs.

Ansvar

Grants available: £5,000 - £15,000
Deadline to apply: 17 April
Who is the funding for?
Charities are being urged to bid for a prize pot offered by the insurance firm Ansvar. The money will be split three ways - £15,000 for the winner and two pots of £5,000 to two additional charities. Applicants must complete a short online form and explain in 500 words or less why they feel their project deserves the funding. The judges will be looking for projects that are due to start and/or are already running and positively impacting the local community. Applicants must be registered charities.

LEAP Scotland– Fortnight Small Grants 

Grants available: £500

Who is the funding for?
The funding is available for youth groups, sports groups, and community organisations across Scotland that are conducting activities during the Festival Fortnight 2023.

NFU Mutual Charitable Trust

Grants available: £1,000 - £50,000 
Deadline to apply: 26 May
Who is the funding for?
Grants are available for initiatives that advance the education of the public in relation to agriculture, advance the education of young people within rural areas, and promote research into agriculture.
