Santander Foundation – Financial & Digital Empowerment Fund

Who is the funding for?
The Santander Foundation has launched a £1.8m fund to support 21 charitable organisations to support financial inclusion by helping more people across the UK become digitally and financially empowered. 

To be eligible for the grant, applicants must:

  • Be UK based and working within one of the nations or regions
  • Be a UK registered charities or community interest companies
  • Have an income of over £75,000
  • Have been in operation for at least 18 months
  • Have at least one set of annual accounts
  • Have at least three unconnected trustees, directors or management committee members

Bank of Scotland Foundation – Cost of living crisis support

Grants available: £1,000 - £25,000
Deadline to apply: 20 September
Who is the funding for?
On 12 September, the Bank of Scotland Foundation’s Reach programme opens to applications. 

It is targeted at smaller charities with an income of £1m or less. Charities can apply for funding for their greatest area of need, whether that be salaries, fuel, electricity or heating. 
When will you hear back?
End of November.

Motability – Reducing barriers to driving programme

Grants available: £100,000 - £2m
Deadline to apply: March 2025
Who is the funding for? 
This grant scheme is for charities to improve and expand private transport options for disabled people and their families beyond the Motability Scheme. 

Applicants must have had an annual income of at least £150,000 over the last three years and hold reserves equivalent to three months of operating costs. 

Applicants must be an incorporated organisation that is overseen by and subject to the rules of a regulator like the Charity Commission or Companies House. They must have a charitable purpose. 

An example of how organisations might use the funds could be to reduce barriers around access to vehicles and adaptations, expand the provision of driving and familiarisation lessons, and increase the number of instructors delivering lessons with adaptations.

Within four weeks.

Motability – Travelling with confidence programme

Grants available: £100,000 - £1m 
Deadline to apply: March 2025
Who is the funding for: 
This grant programme aims to improve the information, support and assistance available to disabled people using public transport. The grant can fund staff or volunteer training and costs, activities that support disabled people to have better journeys through increased confidence and more.

Applicants must have had an annual income of at least £150,000 over the last three years and hold reserves equivalent to three months of operating costs. 

Applicants must be an incorporated organisation that is overseen by and subject to the rules of a regulator like the Charity Commission or Companies House. They must have a charitable purpose. 
When will you hear back?
Depends on the amount of money requested.

Greencoat UK Wind

Grants available: Varies depending on the organisation. A £250,000 funding pot. 
Deadline to apply: Ongoing
Who is the funding for? 
Registered charities and academic institutions are invited to send a pitch to Greencoat UK Wind for funding that support academic research and non-profit projects focused on wind turbine blade sustainability. The company has partnered with BizGive on this.
