Our weekly summary of the latest movers in the charity sector.
Chief executive
The Institute of Legacy Management has appointed Matthew Lagden as chief executive. He most recently worked as director of fundraising at St Paul’s Cathedral and has previously worked at Action for Children, the Stroke Association and the British Heart Foundation.
He takes over from Chris Millward who has joined Legacy Voice as director of consulting.
Fundraising and communications
Jewish Care has appointed Adam Overlander-Kaye as director of fundraising and community engagement. He is currently the chief executive at ORT UK and has previously worked as director of fundraising at Reform Judaism.
The charity has also promoted Ellisa Estrin to director of marketing, communications and customer engagement. She was previously its assistant director of marketing and has worked for Jewish Care for ten years.
Both new roles were created after Jewish Care promoted its director of fundraising and marketing. Daniel Carmel-Brown, to chief executive.
Carmel-Brown said: “These are key roles for us and I am confident they both possess the experience, skills and passion to support this organisation address the challenges that we face as we grow and develop our social care offering to the community.”
Finance and operations
Helen McShane has been appointed as director of services at CLIC Sargent, a charity for young cancer patients and their families.
She has worked in the services teams since 2008 and became the interim director of services in December 2017 and was appointed to the role on a permanent basis in June 2018.
Non-executive roles
Bloodwise, a blood cancer charity, has appointed John Ormerod as a trustee, and he will become the chair at the end of September. He has extensive experience of non-executive roles across the private, public and charity sectors has held senior roles at accounting firms.
Sarah Coles, Simon Dodd, and John Egan have been elected to the Charity Retail Association’s board of trustees.
Coles is head of trading at the Hospice of St Francis, Dodd is head of retail at The Donna Louise Children’s Hospice and Egan is head of retail at Naomi House Children’s Hospice.
Dave Hopton, Clive Hughes, Tracey Rockey and Paul Winfield have joined Rainbow Living, a local charity which enables adults with learning and other disabilities to live with their peers in specially adapted accommodation, as trustees.
