Chief executive
Shelter has announced that Polly Neate, who is currently chief executive of Women’s Aid, will become its new chief executive. Neate will join Shelter on 14 August after four years at Women’s Aid. Prior to that she was executive director of external relations and communications at Action for Children.
Fundraising
Nick Jones, former interim executive director of marketing, fundraising and communications at Save the Children, has been appointed to head up Action for Children’s fundraising, communications and policy directorates.
Jones’ appointment was announced by Action for Children last week. Jones replaces interim fundraising, communications and policy director Kath Mills, who will stay in the post until the end of March while he undergoes his induction. Mills will return to her former position of director of communications at the charity.
Non-executive
Children’s literacy charity, Doorstep Library Network, has announced the appointment of Annabel James as chair to support their home reading programmes and continue to build the charity to benefit more children living in deprived areas throughout London.
She will be taking over from current chair and funder, Agnes Paroissien who is retiring after eight years of service.
