Chief executives
Louise Griew is to be the new chief executive of children’s charity, Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity (RDMCC). She is currently the chief executive of the RAF Sports Federation and prior to this had a career in sport marketing and sponsorship agencies. She is also a trustee of RDMCC.
The Children’s Society has appointed Mark Russell as its new chief executive. He will take up the role in August, when he steps down from Church Army, where he has been chief executive for 13 years. Prior to this role, he was a youth worker. He will succeed Matthew Reed who has moved to Marie Curie as its new chief executive.
Christine Abraham has been promoted to chief executive at Community Action Suffolk. She was previously director of community services at the charity and has worked in the voluntary sector for the last 20 years.
Working Chance has appointed Natasha Finlayson as its new chief executive. She will take on the role in June, succeeding Jocelyn Hillman who founded the charity in 2009. Finlayson is currently the chief executive of children in care charity, Become. She has also worked in communications and policy roles in the sector, including for ChildLine.
Jo Pike is the new chief executive of Scottish Wildlife Trust. She has worked for the charity since 2010 and is currently its deputy chief executive. She takes over from Jonny Hughes, who is to become chief executive of the World Conservation Monitoring Centre.
Operations
Following their merger, Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now have appointed six directors to the charity: Dr Emma Pennery, Fiona Hazell, Polly McGivern, Steve Lucas, Dr Simon Vincent and David Crosby. They will cover the roles clinical director, director of communications and influencing, director of corporate services, director of fundraising and partnerships, director of research and director of services respectively.
Oxfam has appointed Clifford Isabelle to the newly created role of global safeguarding director. He is a qualified social worker and previously worked in the National Crime Agency.
GroceryAid has appointed Andy Ward as finance director. He has worked in finance, audit and governance in businesses such as Ernst & Young, AT&T and T-Mobile.
Non-executives
The Eden Trust has appointed Sanjeev Gandhi as its new chair. He is currently a partner at a law firm and has worked in a range of sectors including technology, media, investment management and the charity sector. He succeeds Judith Donovan.
Watford FC goalkeeper, Ben Foster, is to be a patron of Cure Leukaemia.
Speaking about his appointment he said: “I am thrilled to be a Patron of Cure Leukaemia. I’ve been involved with the charity for four years now and it has become very close to my heart.
"I am very fortunate that my family has not been touched by blood cancer but we have seen the football community rocked by Carl Ikeme and Stiliyan Petrov being diagnosed in recent years and of course Geoff Thomas too.”
Catch22 has appointed Terry Duddy as the chair of its board of trustees. He is the interim chairman of Debenhams Plc and has had a career in the retail sector. He will succeed Jim McKenna.
