Bob Humphreys
Bob Humphreys joined Oxfam in September 2009 as finance director.
He has taken on the challenge of running the finances for an organisation that works in over 50 countries around the world, making the funds Oxfam receives from government and supporters work as hard as possible for the charity’s programmes.
In the last year Humphreys has visited Oxfam’s programmes in Democratic Republic of Congo, Azerbaijan and Georgia to meet people on the ground and see work in action.
Originally qualifying as a civil engineer, Humphreys worked in the UK and Saudi Arabia before deciding on a career change. He joined PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1983 and during his 26 years with the firm he had a number of high-profile roles, including time spent in Eastern Europe and Japan.
Humphreys has focused on the not-for-profit sector since 2001, and led PwC's Charities Group from 2005 to 2009, working with charities such as Plan International, Amnesty International, Cancer Research UK and British Heart Foundation.
