James Sinclair Taylor
James is head of the charity and social business team at Russell-Cooke Solicitors, advising social enterprises, not for profit public bodies, including local authorities and mutuals, and charities
As protector of the Nesta Trust, the successor to the National Endowment for Science Technology and the Arts, he oversees the Trust's £320 million endowment.
He specialises in governance, constitutional issues, mergers and collaborative working, advising on sensitive contractual and funding issues, and risk management. Much of this work is supporting senior staff and trustees through development, growth, mergers and collaborations.
James is a member of the Charity Law Association. He has also served as a charity trustee if a college, grant making trusts, arts bodies and medical, housing and information charities.
He lectures and contributes to a wide variety of charity publications and is the co-author of Voluntary Sector Legal Handbook.
