Save the Children USA's video released this month featuring New York City models showing that poverty cannot be made sexy has attracted over 3 million views.

Save the Children USA's video released this month featuring New York City models showing that poverty cannot be made sexy has attracted over 3 million views.

The video shows models, who have been told that they are there to sell a sexy new brand, grow increasingly more uncomfortable as they try make death and disease sounds appealling.

The models are shown a cue card to read out which says: "Almost 800 mothers and 18,000 young children die each day, mostly from preventable causes."

They admit that they are unable to make the matter sound sexy, with one model asking to take a break from reading out the cards. The film ends with the models admitting that they cannot make this issue sexy, but it still deserves your attention.

The film has had over 3m views and caused controversy both in the USA and the UK. 

It was released to coincide with American Mother's Day and Save the Children's State of the World's Mothes report.
